Konchogsum Lhakhang

The temple of the three jewels, a few minutes' walk from Tamshing: very old in its foundations, new in its walls.

The story

Konchogsum, also called Tsilung, is said by the saint Pema Lingpa to go back to the 8th century. In February 2010 a fire badly damaged it. It was rebuilt, and the new temple and monastery were consecrated in November 2014.

Look for

The main statue of Vairocana, with Guru Rinpoche and Chenrezig beside it, and paintings of Pema Lingpa and the great teacher Longchenpa.

Before you go

Walk here from Tamshing on the same visit. It is a short path between the two temples.
